What happens
Who this is for, what they already know, and the situation in which they will need it — a nurse on shift, a caseworker with a file open, a student in the week before a deadline. Written down in one line before anything else.
What it fixes
Content built for an average learner who does not exist.

What happens
The outcome is written as something observable, and the evidence that would show it is chosen before any content exists. The activity is then built to produce that evidence, not the other way round.
What it fixes
Outcomes that cannot be assessed — "understand," "be aware of" — and activities that drift from what is finally marked.

What happens
Modality follows the task and the setting — what device, what time, what noise — not preference or precedent. What is left out is decided here and recorded.

Courses where a checklist would do; video where a page would do.

What happens
The resource opens with the person's situation and the decision in front of them. Then the model — a worked example before the principle, because a principle without a case has nowhere to attach.
What it fixes
Content that is accurate and never used.

What happens
A task the person can attempt, get wrong, and see the consequence of, with feedback that says what to change rather than whether they were right. Retrieval and spacing are in the schedule, not left to habit.

Passive exposure that feels like learning and does not consolidate.

What happens
Where two or more people will meet the resource together, the exchange is structured — what to compare, what to explain to each other — so that expertise circulates rather than sitting with the confident.
What it fixes
Discussion as filler; peer learning left to chance.
In the rhythm: Share.
What happens
A prompt that asks the person to name where, in their own work, this applies next — because that naming is what moves knowledge from the resource to the room.
What it fixes
Learning that ends when the module does.

What happens
Access is a property of the first draft, at the reading level of the people named in move one, with a pass with real learners before release. What they cannot use is redesigned, not explained.
What it fixes
Accommodation as a downstream fix; resources that fail and look like a learner who did not try.
